Liberty Walking Half Dollar
Auction and Coin Market Price guideThe Liberty Walking half dollar came about as a result of casting aside Charles Barber's designs for the dime, quarter and half dollar. Mint Director Robert W. Woolley invited the top three sculptors of this time to produce designs for all three coins. Adolph A. Weinman was chosen to produce the design for the dime and half dollar. Weinman's design included a full-length Liberty as well as a depiction of the bald eagle on the reverse.
